| BARKING MAD
4th OMNI TERRIER DERBY
Historic Epsom Racecourse, home of the world famous Derby,
was reduced to canine anarchy as over 60 terriers competed
for the coveted prize in the 4th Omni Terrier Derby.
OLD ADVERSARIES
The 2006 running again attracted a record entry with dozens
of barking mad terriers vying for the prize.
Hot favourite Smudge was surprisingly beaten into third place
in the final by old adversary Spotty, who fought off the late
challenge of Masie to grab the spoils – a bumper bundle
of treats supplied by Pet Pals of Tattenham Corner. |

FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY
For early risers the day started at 9am to watch the horses
at the gallops and from 10am until 1pm several of the local
trainers yards were open to visitors.
From 1.15pm the racecourse was the setting for all number
of events including the Shetland Pony Derby and the Omni Terrier
Derby both run on the actual Derby course.
There were all sorts of diversions for kids and for the thirsty
and hungry there were licensed bars and a barbecue. Some visitors
brought their own picnic. |
